VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP
Beginning drawing birds will cover the very basics for those interested in learning how to capture birds in their nature journals or other art. This discussion is suitable for any skill level and will be offered for adults and children 10 and older. Topics covered include; simple bird anatomy, basic bird types, bird gesture drawing and finding and using references. Drawings will be done in pen and pencil. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook or journal and pen if preferred. Pencils and paper will be provided. Class size is limited so registration is required. Cost of the class is $15 for members, $25 for nonmembers.
The class will be taught by Courtney Farquharson, an artist originally from East Tennessee. Exhibiting as Mudpuppy Moon Art Studio at multiple art fairs and shows in central Illinois she has won multiple awards including best in show at the Old State Capitol Art Fair in Springfield for 2024. Though dedicated to linoleum block printmaking, Courtney is also a capable painter, illustrator and sculptor. Her work illustrates scenes of nature, hidden folklore and girlhood inspired by a young life lived in Appalachia.
