The UIS Orchestral Extravaganza brings together seven different ensembles and over 300 UIS and community musicians!

JThe UIS Orchestra Festival Concert features the UIS Orchestra in a performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sheherazade, based on the famous story One Thousand and One Nights (Arabian Nights), a collection of folktales compiled in Arabic.  Soloing with the orchestra are winners of the junior and senior divisions of the UIS Music Solo competition: Analiese Reeves, flute; Jeremy Gao, violin; Jayden Li, piano.

The concert traces the journey of music education by featuring our youngest musicians of the UIS String Academy and ISYO Starter Strings, followed by the burgeoning musicians of the ISYO Youth Orchestras, and culminating with the UIS Orchestra.
