Abe Lincoln Rail Splitter Statue
A 30-foot statue of a young Abraham Lincoln holding an ax stands in front of the Illinois Expo Building at Gate 1 of the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Sculpted in 1968 by Springfield native, Carl W. Rinnus, this representation of Mr. Lincoln, without his iconic beard, is titled “The Rail Splitter” and is a welcoming site for fair goers and tourists.
