SOB Festival August 31
This event has raised over $87,000 for area charities! Features over 130 different types of Craft Beers, 5000+ Gourmet Oysters, Live Music and Local Food Trucks. Having a good time is much easier when it's for a great cause.
Springfield Mile August 31 – September 1
Enjoy fast-paced action and non-stop thrills of national level motorcycle racing at the Multi-Purpose Arena and on the fastest mile dirt track.
Party Like It’s 1860 August 31
Travel back in time and enjoy an evening of music, games, dance moves and carriage rides. The neighborhood will come to life with a live performance from the 33rd Illinois Volunteer Regiment band and park ranger activities. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln will join the block party to share their memories from the time they lived in their home
First Sunday Midwest Autumn Bazaar September 1
You never know what you'll find at the bazaar! But you can always count on delicious mimosas in our wine and craft beer patio, samples throughout the venue of delicious dips, sausages and sweet treats, music that makes you forget your worries and just enjoy the day, and tons of the BEST shopping in the whole midwest!!
Lincoln’s New Salem Bluegrass Concert September 6 – 7
Bluegrass musicians will be playing music in the outdoor theater. Traditional, folk and bluegrass musicians are invited to participate in the weekend impromptu jam session.
Illinois Secretary of State Vehicle Show and Swap Meet September 7
Head downtown and enjoy the 69th Annual Vehicle Show & Swap Meet at the IL State Capitol grounds. Held rain or shine.
Traditional Music Festival September 7 – 8
Musicians will be playing traditional music on such instruments as mountain and hammer dulcimers, concertinas, bones, autoharps, fiddles, banjos, and guitars throughout the historic village. Traditional, folk and bluegrass musicians are invited to participate in the weekend impromptu jam session. On Sunday, clog dancers will perform outside the village, starting at noon.
Capital City Century September 8
A weekend of new cycling routes, fun activities and parties your whole family and friends can enjoy. This classic century event draws up to 800 riders annually. It features distance options of 20 to 125 miles over flat to rolling terrain, well-marked roads, organized food stops, SAG service, and a post-ride party.
Art Spectacular at the Carillon September 14 – 15
A juried fine art fair features up to 50 artists in a wide array of media. Ranked #25 in the "200 Best Art Fairs" in the United States by Sunshine Artist Magazine - the only art fair in Central Illinois with the distinction of being in the "Best 100" for 5 consecutive years!! Also features High School Youth Art Showcase, Music, Food Vendor, Silent Auction, Basket Raffle; and on Saturday only the Kids' Art Sale and Patron Bucks Drawings.
Clayville Fall Festival September 21
Pioneer artisan and craftsman demonstrations, historic building tours, kid's activities, food and refreshments. Enjoy period music and audience participation entertainment throughout the weekend in a restored pioneer village.
Edwards Place Art Fair September 21 – 22
View and purchase hand-crafted art from the Midwest and beyond at dozens of artists booths. Enjoy live music, food vendors, live art demonstrations, and kid’s activities as you browse amazing artwork. Walk through the newly-restored Edwards Place historic home. Kick off the fall season with this great family event!
18th Annual Intl Route 66 Mother Road Festival September 27 – 29
Celebrate the Golden Age of Route 66…the cars, the music, the food, the friends……all brought together along Illinois’ Route 66. Over 1,100 cool cars and 85,000 spectators, hot music and free entertainment will roll into the heart of Springfield's historic downtown for this Route 66 celebration!
Lincoln’s New Salem Candlelight Tour October 4 – 6
The Candlelight Tour offers the only opportunity to see the village at night. Period clothed interpreters will be inside many of the log homes and shops in the village to talk about life in 19th century Illinois. Gingerbread and cider will be served in the Rutledge Tavern.
Indian Summer Festival October 12 - 13
The most popular event of the year at Lincoln Memorial Garden, when fall colors are just starting to peak. Enjoy great music, delicious food, vendors, children’s activities and some exciting additions you’re sure to enjoy.
Fall Festival at Lincoln’s New Salem October 26 - 27
Period clothed interpreters will demonstrate daily tasks throughout the historic village such as candle dipping, soap making, basket making, spinning wool, gardening, natural dyeing, and broom making. Visitors can step down into the cellar at the tavern to see how fruits and vegetables were preserved during the winter.
