Springfield, Ill. (September 2, 2025) — The Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A. is proud to announce the 2025 World Clydesdale Show, taking place Oct. 1–5, 2025, at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois. The WCS is a celebration of one of the most iconic and beloved horse breeds on the planet. This prestigious event will welcome participants and fans from around the globe to experience the beauty, strength, versatility, and tradition of the Clydesdale like never before. 

 

The event is expected to draw more than 700 exhibitors, patrons, spectators, and horse enthusiasts to Springfield, along with more than 400 top-bred Clydesdales from the United States, Canada, Scotland, and Europe. The renowned Budweiser Clydesdales will also be in attendance. The Illinois State Fairgrounds will host the show, utilizing its modern facilities, renovated coliseum, and covered arena.

 

The show will feature 2,400 entries, including hitch classes ranging from cart up to six- and eight-horse hitches, halter competitions, riding disciplines, farm team races, costume and pleasure classes, and youth engagement events. The World Clydesdale Show is more than a showcase, it’s a vibrant celebration of a beloved and resilient breed, with roots in 17th-century Scotland.

 

All are encouraged to attend, whether to experience the thrill of competition, support dedicated breeders, or simply enjoy the awe-inspiring presence of these magnificent horses.

Free to the public — All enthusiasts are invited to cheer on competitors, explore vendor booths, and enjoy food truck offerings. Plus, the legendary Budweiser Clydesdales will be on display along with a public beer garden. On Saturday, October 4 in the evening there will be a block party with food, drinks and a band, this is open to all exhibitors and spectators by the livestock arena.
