VISIT SPRINGFIELD ANNOUNCES FREE NEW TOURISM AMBASSADOR ONLINE ACADEMY 

July 22, 2025, Springfield, IL – Visit Springfield has created and launched a Tourism Ambassador Academy online course and training certification to help us shape the future of Springfield, IL.

This course that has been created by Visit Springfield with the intention that participants will gain insight into the program’s unique training modules, which cover topics like visitor engagement, greetings, handshakes, and what tourism means to our city.

What participants can expect:

  • Access to the interactive modules that deepen knowledge of Springfield and enhance visitor service skills
  • Certifications: become one of the first to achieve the Tourism Ambassador certification, demonstrating commitment to our community’s success and growth
  • Learn where to find resources to guide visitors to have the best experiences possible
  • Become an advocate for Springfield and contribute to the city’s growth by supporting the local economy and tourism
Participation by local leaders and their businesses is invaluable.  Sharing this course with their staff and other colleagues, will help ensure the program is engaged, and impactful for everyone involved.  As of today, 2 weeks post launch nearly 90 people have participated in the course.

This course was designed to be a tool for all levels of knowledge and all areas of business across the city.
