The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum marks our 15th anniversary this Spring with a celebration that will have you soaring to new heights. All the fun happens Saturday, April 18 with kids getting FREE admission all-day and the museum staying open late until 8 pm. The party starts in the Union Square Park with an ABE-mazing array of games and activities for the kids throughout the afternoon and culminates in a special Twilight Tethered Hot Air Balloon experience to thrill your entire family. To celebrate our 15th Anniversary, the ALPLM Education Department is bringing out all the stops by sharing our “Greatest Hits” from years past to ensure our youngest visitors (and kids at heart) have a blast! Guests can interact with replicas from the past at our Touch Table, create thaumatropes, fire our rubber band Gatlin Guns, take Penny Selfies, play 19th century games, and design a personalized Anniversary button. You can also learn more about the use of hot air balloons during the Civil War at our Civil War Tech: Hot Air Balloon table.
Plus, we'll have food and drink available for purchase in the park, along with a Giant Mobile Boombox playing music throughout the day!
