Levitt AMP Springfield May 30 – August 1
Free concerts over 10 Thursdays from May 30 - August 1. On the Y Block at 4th and Jackson in downtown Springfield. Thanks for supporting the Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series, bringing our community together through the power of free, live music.
History Comes Alive June 1 - August 13
Imagine stepping back in time to the Springfield that Abraham Lincoln knew before he became president. We can't wait to share the 2019 History Comes Alive lineup with you as our signature summer program commemorates its 10th Anniversary. We're pulling out all the stops to make this season the best EVER with activities seven days a week! Even more exciting, most events are FREE!!
58th International Carillon Festival June 2 - 7
Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets and sit out in beautiful Washington Park for the International Carillon Festival. Listen and be wowed as the 67 bell carillon plays. Enjoy Friday evening’s special fireworks display. Best of all, the festival is free to attend.
Legacy of Giving Music Festival June 7 - 8
Looking for an exciting weekend of music that gives back? Head downtown and enjoy 60+ musical acts across 5 stages. The kiddos will have a blast in the Children's area with inflatables, face painting, kid's games, and more. And don’t you worry, Food trucks will be onsite, offering a wide variety of fare.
Paint the Street Fest June 22
Head on downtown for the annual Paint the Street Fest, a block party where you literally paint the streets of Downtown Springfield! Experience live music and great food while watching artists paint 300, 6 x 6 ft. squares in front of the Old State Capitol. You haven’t seen streets like this!
Springfield Jaycees Fireworks July 4
Bring your family, friends & neighbors as our community experiences the power of free, live music thanks to the Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series. This evening, we'll celebrate our Nation's Birthday with fireworks provided by Viper Mine and Springfield Jaycees at 9:30 pm. But first, we'll feature two amazing musical performances starting at 6 pm.
Knight's 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks Show July 4
Top off your day at this one-of-a-kind attraction with one of the area's most popular fireworks displays. Fireworks display will be at 9:30 sharp from our private pavillion.
Clare Irwin's Strawberry Party July 4
A variety of games and activities that would be played by adults and children in the early 1800s, a group reading of the Declaration of Independence, and, new this year, a series of toasts that were proposed at Springfield’s 1838 Independence Day celebration.
Rock the Dock Independence Day Celebration July 5
Rock the Dock is the largest firework display on water in Central Illinois! On land, we will have live music, food, beverages, and fun for all!
Abe Fest July 19 - 20
Downtown Springfield's newest music festival! Bringing a weekend of big-name live music including the BoDeans & The Smithereens, food, and drinks.
Downhome Music Festival July 26 - 27
This family-Friendly event showcases local music while introducing our festival goers to a variety of craft beer. The event will feature local, original bands with gate proceeds directly benefiting the artists. There will be local food vendors, 100 different craft beers, as well as a kid’s area for the little ones.
Powerlight Abe Lincoln Car Show Spectacular & Super Cruise August 2 - 3
The show features both air and ground displays. Air displays include the Saints Flight Helicopter doing a flyover and landing. Ground displays include the Brandt’s #7 show car race car, Sangamon County K-9 demo, fallen police officers and veteran tribute, Route 66 tribute, 50th Anniversary Cougar tribute & many others. This year’s Grand Marshall’s are Bobby and Cindy Brady, yes from the Brady Bunch!! (Michael Lookinland & Susan Olsen)
Illinois State Fair August 8 - 18
No summer is complete without going to the Illinois State Fair. This is one of the oldest state fairs in the United States. Enjoy fair food and fun. Experience livestock shows, exhibits, contests and harness racing and more. Make sure to get your tickets to this year’s Grandstand Acts!
Springfield Oyster & Beer Festival August 31
This event has raised over $87,000 for area charities! Features over 130 different types of Craft Beers, 5000+ Gourmet Oysters, Live Music and Local Food Trucks. Having a good time is much easier when it's for a great cause.
Springfield Mile August 31 - September 1
Enjoy fast-paced action and non-stop thrills of national level motorcycle racing at the Multi Purpose Arena and on the fastest mile dirt track.
